ANNOUNCEMENTS

Spanish guitarist and singer Diego Amador Jr. will perform with Seattle-based dancer Savannah Fuentes on Friday, April 29 at Grizzly Peak Winery in Ashland at 7pm. Diego is the real thing, a true artist from a famous flamenco family in Sevilla. His playing is fire, and his voice is honey. (He’s also a very sweet human being.) Savannah is an elegant, intense dancer. You can get tickets here, and you can see a sample of Diego’s playing and singing here.

Next month the Folias Duo will be here at next month’s meeting, which is being moved to the THIRD THURSDAY of the month, May 19. Mark your calendars, since this will be a very special evening! If you can’t make the meeting, you can see the duo at La Baguette Music Cafe in Ashland the next morning at 10:30am before they continue on their tour.

Grant Ruiz and Dan Fellman will play at Tap and Vine in the Medford Center on Wednesday, April 20 from 5-7pm and at Belle Fiore on Sunday, April 24 from 5-7pm.

Guitar society member Mary La recently released her book “The Great Unlearning”, and art from the book is currently hanging at Paschal Winery for all to see. You can purchase the book at her website (mary-la.com) or at Paschal.

Guitar society member Mark Turnbull has posted a wonderful video of his playing and storytelling with some very worthwhile messages. The video (which is actually audio with a static image) is entitled “Help Wanted: Inquire Within” or “What Elephant?” and is well worth a listen. You can listen to it here.
