| We enjoyed another fantastic evening of excellent music, Tuesday, October 3rd at the beautiful Paschal Winery in Talent with an excellent turnout.
Longtime friend of the guitar society, Johannes Moeller, will be performing with his wife, Argentine guitarist Laura Fraticelli on Sunday, October 8 at 7pm at Paschal Winery. The program will also include beautiful compositions by Johannes inspired by China. You can read more about them and watch videos on Johannes’ website. We had a wonderful evening of music on Tuesday, September 5th at Paschal Winery in Talent. Our special guest artist was Cameron O’Connor who was on his way to Corvallis to be the new classical guitar instructor at OSU.

Saturday, Sep. 30 from 12-12:30pm, Grant accompany a new flamenco student dance group called Raices Gitanos (Gypsy Roots) led by Gloria Melgarejo at the Medford Multicultural Fest in Alba Park. The election for the new JCGS Board of Directors will be held at the monthly general meeting the first Tuesday of October, the 3rd. Please consider being part of the society’s future direction. ANNOUNCEMENTS The guitar society’s board of directors has determined that it is time to hold elections for the board. Each board member has a 2-year term, and it has been at least this long until elections have been held. Further, we have a couple of board members who are considering stepping down. The election will be held at the monthly general meeting the first Tuesday of October, the 3rd. This will give potential candidates the opportunity to consider being part of the society’s future direction. If you are interested in running for the board, please respond to this message. We are lucky enough to have two guest artists lined up in the next few months. In September it will be James Bishop-Edwards, who is preparing a program for out-on-town concerts. In November, Mario Diaz of the Portland Guitar Quartet will play for us. James Edwards will present a special salon concert on July 30 at 4pm. at a private residence in Ashland. Tickets are only $14. Pretty good for 2 hours of guitar played by 6 guitarists from different genres. This year we added Vicki Genfan on percussive style (slap and tap) and Terry Robb on acoustic blues. Both are amazing. Come check it out! Stone Records recording artist Aaron Larget-Caplan and EWM Records artist Peter Janson perform in Ashland on Wednesday, June 28th at Havurah Shir Hadash, 185 N. Mountain Ave, Ashland OR 97520 as part of their 14-date summer west-coast tour that has them performing from Seattle to Phoenix. More information below. The Corvallis Guitar Society had their first guitar festival, and it was a huge success with Jaxon Williams playing a brilliant opening concert and Adam del Monte being the headliner.
