Mark DeGroft, an employee of Cripple Creek Music in Ashland, continues to go through serious medical issues. There will be a benefit concert for him on March 10 at the Historic Ashland Armory on Oak St. from 2:30-9pm. Several local musicians (including guitarists Ed Dunsavage, Mark Nelson, Grant Ruiz, Dan Fellman, Hawkeye Herman, and Mark Turnbull) will play an acoustic set from 3-6pm, followed by three local bands (Blue Lightning, LEFT, and Frankie Hernandez) that will take the stage in turn from 6-9pm. Tickets are sliding scale, $15-$25, available at Cripple Creek or the door. Please mark your calendars. You can also visit Mark’s GoFundMe page at https://www.gofundme.com/mark-degroft-medical-expenses to help out.

Arturo noted the recent passing or Rico Stover, who was responsible for the rediscovery of the music of Agustín Barrios Mangoré, as well as the tragic passing of young, up-and-coming classical guitarist Sabrina Vlaskalic. He called for a moment of silence during the meeting to pay respect to both artists.
